Case study and examples of client videos

What - Client Bio Video

A short video bio that is used as an introductory message on a web page or on social media platforms to drive people to your site.  In addition there will be various social media clips  produced for the client.

Why - Online Store vs Brick and Morter

Whenever a person walks into a brick and mortar store they immediatly get a sense of what the store is about. The interior design, the person behind the counter, the sounds, even the smells inform the customer about the product aesthetic.  If that aesthetic resonates with the customer then a sale is more likely to happen.

An on-line purchase is a passive experience for the shopper.  The digital store is limited by the visual limitations of web design and broadband access in order to connect with the customer.

The goal of the vender bio video is to bridge that gap.  After viewing, the on-line customer will feel like they are aprticipating in a human interaction as opposed to a dry purchase from a large web conglomerate.

How - The Process

The process starts with an informal interview.  Giving the subject an opportunity to walk us through the various aspects of what they do.  Many subjects are not used to being interviewed so starting with technical details allows them to talk with confidence. This helps to build a comfort with the process. I then talk to the subject about why they do what they do.  This gives me more material to flesh out thier story.

I then retreat and build a “story”, a narrative that will inform what visuals I shoot along with creating the themes of the voice over track.

Next comes a shoot day (or two depending on need and budget).  Followed by a rough edit and write copy for the voice over track.

The last day with the subject is to record an on camera greeting and an off camera audio recording session (done on site) consisting of the subject reading the pre written copy along with additional unscripted conversation.  This day can also be used to pick up any shots that the rough edit revealed are needed.
